Brevisano the Noble

One of the few Holiday Events that a 20 Trial account can complete, and, it comes with a Title. Cho’gall is not a realm that is friendly for the Alliance, so, this one was particularly difficult. In addition, the Alliance population is quite small, so, finding the Alliance level 18+ accounts was almost as difficult as getting the Horde accounts.

Most of the achievements were easy. Had I done a little planning, I would have died at the crater rim above the lake in Un’Goro crater as I found out you can’t lay the eggs while swimming. After I got the rest of the achievements, I ran to Orgrimmar, hid behind a building, found my first target, mounted up and ran to get the bunny ears on a Female Tauren. I was killed rather quickly, but, with a corpse walk back, I had time to find the next female race that I needed. I would rez, put the bunny ears on, get killed rather quickly, and, walk back.

The last thing I needed was a Female Troll, so, had one targeted, rezzed, got the achievement, bam, dead.

As a trial account, the hardest part was being turned into a rabbit for the Un’Goro achievement – I ran an instance and had someone transform me at the end, and I had queued up from Un’Goro Crater. Other than that, most of the achievements were fairly straightforward.

A friend of mine was considering a transfer to Darkspear, so, I figured I would take a look at the server on the Alliance side since it is reputed to be quite active with PvP.

My first impression with reading Trade Chat is yes, there is a LOT of PvP activity. While I was there, a few Horde were camped in the Mage Tower, they had killed the people around the Portals and were causing general mayhem. There were multiple groups looking for Rated Battlegrounds in trade, dozens of people looking for 2s and 3s partners. In short, PvP nirvana.

One that didn’t get away

While leveling fishing on Brevisano I caught the 29 pound Salmon and earned the achievement. Luxxi also has the achivement.

Stood in the Fire

While fishing some Deviate Fish on Brevisano around the entrance to Wailing Caverns, I got hit with something and died instantly. Since it is a PvP realm, I always suspect some higher level horde character killing me for being in their territory. This time, that wasn’t the case:

Junkboxes for the Insane

While gathering a few [Heavy Junkbox] for the Insane in the Membrane title, I figured I would loot them to see if any decent items dropped. Since you need to leave one item in the Junkbox for the quest turnin, most of the time I was able to loot silver, a health potion worth 10 silver and the occasional green item. Two lockboxes contained epics:

Both [Teebu's Blazing Longsword] and [Shadowblade] were looted from one of the 1438 Junkboxes looted for the achievement.

Damage Control

Qwaitxtwo, a fresh 80 warlock respecced Affliction to run a few battlegrounds, and, it is extremely easy to get the big numbers

On the second or third AV, Horde took Snowfall Graveyard which results in a battle of reinforcements. Since the Alliance were stuck at the bridge chokepoint, it is just a matter of which side has more deaths.

During the game Qwaitxtwo received Damage Control and ended up with over 830k damage in the game. For a fresh 80 in quest greens and blues, that is pretty respectable.

An Honorable Kill

While doing some quests in the Hinterlands, Sormodann saw me at about 70% health, 2 levels below him, and fighting another mob and decided to attack. 45 levels and my first honorable kill on Cho’gall.

Horde outnumbers Alliance 4:1 on this realm if not more, so, it is always interesting when the Alliance picks a fight. Qwaitxten isn’t that well geared — he’s got the BoA shoulders and the Arcanite Reaper with Crusader, but, other than that it’s all quest gear.

To be fair, Sormodann must be a relatively new hunter as I found it very easy to kill him. No hunters mark, he didn’t disengage and when I ran up to him, it is obvious that he wasn’t used to melee. I guess he felt his 2 levels would have given him a considerable advantage.

Explore Icecrown

While Jamespond was leveling, I was flying over to heal a guy that was doing the bone witch’s revenge quest chain which led to the ‘ring of blood’ quests for Icecrown. As I was on my way, I must have run over the last part of Icecrown that I hadn’t discovered and voila, Explore Icecrown.

1500 Quests Completed

Since the release of Wrath of the Lich King, Jamespond sat idle. Initially he was leveled to 71 and dropped off in Dragonblight, then, leveled to 73 and left in Conquest Hold as he healed Qwaitxfour when he did the pit quest. When I started leveling him again, he had full rest experience which lasted into the first third of 79. As I level mostly with quests an rarely run instances, to solo from 70-80 takes about 1500 quests.
